Introduced to Yoga Synergy by her mum in 2003, Verity was initially attracted to yoga as a way of improving flexibility and strength for her martial arts practice. Verity has has been training since 1999 in taekwondo and holds a black belt. She quickly realised that yoga offered many additional benefits, including increased energy levels, improved concentration and relaxation in her everyday life. In order to deepen her understanding of yoga, Verity attended Byron Yoga’s Intensive Yoga Teacher Training course. She was amazed at how good it felt to pass on to others what she had learned from her teachers and her own experience. Verity then commenced teacher training with Simon Borg-Olivier and Bianca Machliss at Yoga Synergy.
Verity believes in the importance of balancing body and mind. In her teaching, she focuses on generating awareness of correct alignment, and helping students to practice with calmness and an open mind. Verity approaches her own yoga practice with mindfulness and a sense of being present in each moment.
Outside of yoga, Verity runs a successful graphic design and photography business. She has a passion for generating creative, ethical and sustainable design. Her yoga practice is a source of focus and has been of great assistance in her professional life.
Verity attended Yoga Synergy’s Anatomy & Physiology course in 2008 and 2009. She also attended Clive Sheridan’s workshop in 2009 and 2010. Inspired by her teachers, Verity hopes to encourage others to learn and grow through their own experience of yoga.
